The First Ever Holdem Tournament

Goals

1. Have *FUN*
2. Test the latest version of the holdem beta - Holdem still isn't done yet, so its got plenty of bugs, and we're hoping this tourney will give us a good opportunity to test and find the problems so we can fix them fast!
3. Test the new tournament design "Free-For-All Elimination" - This was an idea proposed to the lists and it had popular support, so now's the time to test it and learn how to make it work!

Remember folks, both the game we're playing and the new style of tournament are experimental and *likely to have bugs*. We're running this event to help us *find* bugs. So if you find one, be excited and please post it to the beta list or to communitydirector@allinplay.com. Thank you!

* Location: The Holdem Tourney server - a link to this server will appear on all the play pages shortly before the tournament begins. Those links will remain as long as the tournament is still running.

Free-for-All Elimination Explained

Everyone starts with 100,000 marbles. This style of tournament has several different stages, each with their own rules. The first stage is a qualifying round open to all Members. Members who win enough marbles in the Free-for-All round get to go on to the first elimination round. Each elimination round that follows has a higher and higher minimum chip limit, building the drama and excitement!

Free-for-All Stage:

Players get 21 hours to play at tables set up as follows:

Big Blind=2, pot limit, max raises=2, no minimum (for folks new to holdem)
Big Blind=50, pot limit, max raises=2, no minimum
Big Blind=100, pot limit, max raises=2, no minimum
Big Blind=200, pot limit, max raises=3, no minimum
Big Blind=500, pot limit, max raises=3, no minimum

First Elimination Stage:

You must have at least 100,000 marbles to join a table in this round. This round begins 21 hours after the start of the tourney. It has the following tables:

Big Blind=500, pot limit, max raises=3
Big Blind=1k, pot limit, max raises=4
Big Blind=2k, pot limit, max raises=4

Here are a couple of important things to keep in mind: You need to finish the Free-for-All round with at least 100k to qualify for the first Elimination round! Also, if at any time during an elimination round your stake (number of marbles) falls below the minimum limit for the round and you leave, you won't be able to rejoin!

Second Elimination Stage:

You must have at least 150,000 marbles to join a table in this round. This round begins 22 hours after the start of the tourney. It has the following tables:

Big Blind=2k, pot limit, max raises=5
Big Blind=5k, pot limit, max raises=5

Third Elimination Stage:

You must have at least 200,000 marbles to join a table in this round. This round begins 23 hours after the start of the tourney. It has the following tables:

Big Blind=5k, *NO LIMIT*, max raises=6
Big Blind=10k, *NO LIMIT*, max raises=6

At the 24-hour mark, the tournament will end and the Member with the most marbles wins!

Rules & Legal Stuff:

All inPlay actively monitors tournaments, logs all chat and betting, and immediately removes and/or disqualifies anyone found cheating or being disruptive.

* There is no fee to participate in the tournament and it is open to all Members.
* Each All inPlay account that is paid up may participate and be used by whomever the account owner wishes. However, it is the owner of the account who is responsible for the action of anyone they "loan" their account to.
* Players who receive and keep large "donations" of chips from other players will be removed from the tournament by All inPlay.
* This tournament is void where prohibited.
* All decisions by All inPlay concerning removal of players believed to be cheating or disrupting the game are final.
