Community-sponsored Tournaments
In Brief
We have several different flavors of tournaments that you can sponsor. You
can choose between a 24-hour or 4-hour tournament open to all Paying Members. If you like, you can join together with other All inPlay members to cover the cost of sponsoring a tournament. Here are some specifics. When the
event is over, a simple record of the final rankings will
be posted to the website. Bragging Rights are the only prizes available
at these types of tournaments (unless otherwise specified).
Sponsored tournaments do not have formal "tourney info"
pages. Instead, the date, time, and flavor of any Basic Tournament
is announced to the relevant community mailing list and listed
on the Community News
and Events Calendar. Other standard information (such
as rules, flavor descriptions, and legal info) appear on this
page.

Fair Play
All inPlay maintains logs of all activities on our website in case a review is needed. Anyone found to be cheating will find their title stripped from them and may possibly be banned from the website for some period of time.
What's cheating you ask? For our purposes it is defined as either helping anyone get in the top 25% without earning it, or getting others to help you to do so. Examples include: purposefully giving chips (as opposed to losing them fair-and-square) to another player, sharing information outside the game that gives you an unfair advantage, etc. All decisions by All inPlay concerning removal of players believed to be cheating or disrupting the game are final.
Legal
Stuff
This section is meant to help maintain a SPIRIT of fun and friendship. If All inPlay ever feels the exact wording of our rules gets in the way of the intended spirit, the spirit holds priority and we'll make decisions accordingly. After all, we're here to have fun and make friends, not argue legalese!

Frequently
Asked Questions About Tournaments
Q) How do I sign
up for the Tournament?
A) We don't like
making people have to fill out unnecessary forms, so all paying
members are automatically signed up so they can play if they
want to. Please note, however, that you do need to have a
valid email address in order to play in the tournament. If
you don't have a valid email address and you win, we have
no way to reach you! If you have not validated your email,
then you will be asked to when you try to join the tournament.
If you would like to validate
your email address now, you can do so on the my
account page.
Q) The tournament
lasts a while; do I need to play for the whole time?
A) Not at all!
We have the tournaments run for such a long time so that people
in all time zones have a fair chance at a convenient time
for them to play, but you can play as much (or as little)
as you like. When you leave a tournament table, your tournament
chips/points are placed in a special virtual vault and kept
safe until you need them again. This allows you to hop from
table to table or take a several-hour break (naps are highly
recommended! <smile>) and still have your winnings waiting
for you when you come back.
Q) Where will
the tournament take place?
A) On a special tournament server, a link to this server will appear on all the Play pages during the event to allow easy access.
